Hunter TAFE Foundation

The Hunter TAFE Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working with business, education, and community leaders to support education and training at TAFE NSW in the Hunter and Central Coast region.

Established in 2000, the Hunter TAFE Foundation has a rich history in the region, having evolved from the Newcastle Technical and Further Education Committee Trust Fund, which received its first donation in 1936 to provide skills for employment.

Fast forward to today, and the Foundation provides financial support to TAFE NSW students in the Hunter and Central Coast who are experiencing either personal or financial hardship, assisting them in completing their studies.

Throughout the 2022/2023 financial year, the Foundation recognised 69 students in 26 categories supported by our very generous 20 donors and supporters to the tune of $81,564. It is with the ongoing support of our generous and loyal donors that the Hunter TAFE Foundation can continue to assist students from a diverse range of backgrounds to successfully complete their studies, enter the workforce or enhance their career pathway.

We understand that some donors may wish to establish an award or scholarship that aligns with their particular field of expertise or specific career area. Testimonials

"The scholarship was the next stepping stone needed to further my career. I would encourage anyone in the industry who is eligible to apply for the Barker Maritime Scholarship. Take the time to apply, write down your goals of where you want to be in five years’ time and formulate your cover letter based around that. Be realistic, but aim high,"

Nik Payne

"This scholarship has helped me immensely with equipment that is required for developing my sound engineering career during this course and beyond."
